How fees work
The answers to what nearly everyone asks before a first session. Your fee is always given to you in writing before you start.
Insurance we work with
We bill some commercial plans, such as PPO and EPO plans. Which ones depends on the clinician you see, and we tell you before your first session whether we are in network with yours. We do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. If you need a clinician who does, we will gladly give you names.

No Medicare or Medicaid
If you pay yourself
If you do not use insurance, you pay at the end of each session by card, including HSA and FSA cards. Your fee is given to you in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots may be open; ask how to request one. We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment.
Receipts for reimbursement
Each month we give you an itemized receipt (a superbill) to send to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it pays anything, so ask it before you begin.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one before the first session. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Before the first session we check whether your plan covers outpatient mental health visits with the clinician you will see, and we tell you what we find. We cannot promise what a plan will pay.
Questions about money?
Write to us. We would rather answer a question about fees today than have you wonder about it after a session.
