Individual therapy

A room of your own, in the language you think in

For adults who want one hour that is not about anyone else's expectations.

Sessions are 50 minutes, in person or by video, usually weekly or every other week. You talk, we listen, and your therapist helps you sort what is yours from what you were handed. You can speak in English, or switch languages mid-sentence, and nobody will correct you.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy

A method built on Aaron Beck's work, taught through the Beck Institute. Your therapist tells you when they use it and why.

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy

A method taught through the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, for deciding what matters and acting on it.

What this is not

  • An emergency or crisis service

  • A place where your family is told what you say

  • Evaluations or letters for courts, employers or immigration

  • Medication management

Length, pace and cost

What to expect, and how it is paid

  • Length and pace

Your therapist sets the pace with you. Many people start weekly and move to every other week, and nobody promises a set number of sessions.

  • How it is paid

Insurance, self-pay, receipts and a written estimate are explained in one place, and you will see your fee in writing before you start.

    How fees work
  • Who you meet

Savita, Neeraj or Rafia, depending on language and schedule. You can ask to meet someone else at any point.

Three questions

About individual therapy

Can I switch between languages in a session?

Yes. Many clients move between English and the language they grew up with, sometimes in one sentence. Tell your therapist which you prefer, and they will follow you.

Do I have to talk about my family?

Only if you want to. Some people come to talk about work or a decision, and family comes up or does not.

Will anyone at home know I am coming?

We do not contact anyone about your sessions. Billing statements and receipts can be sent to the address you choose; ask us how.
